✏️ ENGLISH CHALLENGE ✏️

Our History topic is “The Gunpowder Plot” so of course we couldn’t miss out on having our very own Bonfire in the forest at school!
We started the day by making chocolate apples, something which people have on the actual Bonfire Night in November. Then in the afternoon we went down to the forest and launched our fireworks that we had made the day before. We created all of the firework noises ourselves so was as noisy as a real firework display!! Bang! Screech! Whizzz!!
Then we went into the tent and sat around a campfire to sing and eat our apples. Mr Shayne very kindly helped some of us to make some popcorn over the fire and we enjoyed some popcorn with our hot chocolates!
After feeling very cosy and very full, we left the hut and Mr Shayne launched some rockets for us to watch! We were in total awe and loved our Bonfire Afternoon!
Golden Eagles, see if you can tell your family all about the Gunpowder Plot because you can remember so much and it’s amazing!

Golden Eagles used their understanding of how to lighten and darken colours to carefully create some paintings of leaves. We sketched them out first after precise observation from the pictures, and then mixed our own shades of green.

At the beginning of our Art topic this term, we enjoyed practising what happens when you mix white and black with colours. We found that white makes colours light, and black makes them darker – and sometimes it makes new colours such as red and white make pink! We need to remember this skill for later in our topic as it will be very helpful to know.

Once again the Golden Eagles tried really hard in their Mini Athletics.

Keep going Golden Eagles. You can do it.
